How does glasses-free 3D work?
Normally, when viewing 3D at the cinema, you would use 3D glasses to polarise the image allowing your eyes to see a slightly different image.
The technology in our ROKiT devices polarises light directly in the screen instead, allowing you to view 3D content with no glasses. When viewing 3D content, the screen polarises light in such a way that shows a different image to each of your eyes, producing the 3D effect.
How can I access and view 3D content?
ROKiT FLiX 3D offers original 3D content created at ROK Studios. A huge catalogue of 3D films and content that you can watch using our 3D phones. ROKiT FLiX 3D boasts a library so expansive, you could watch three films a week and have over 18 months worth of content. Simply register in ROKiT Hub for 3 free months access to our unique content.
3D Gallery allows you to view both 3D movies, clips and photos. You can upload your own 3D content by transferring files to the 3DCIM folder of the Android directory. Settings are available to view side-by-side (SBS) and top/bottom 3D content. Plug your phone into your computer then find your device > Internal shared storage > K3DX > 3DCIM > Select Camera or Video. Compatible file formats are AVI/MP4/3GP.
YouTube cannot be viewed in 3D due to changes in the latest version of YouTube. Please contact support for more information.
Do ROKiT devices come with in-built 3D cameras?
Our current line-up of 3D devices do not come with integrated 3D cameras. However, they boast easy capture mode which allows users to convert 2D images into 3D while viewing on the device and and double picture mode which takes 2 images and layers them to create a 3D effect.
These features can be accessed in the 3D Camera app.
